Console Tables

Delivery is a flat fee regardless of the number of items and depends on your address:

Dublin: €30

Surrounding Counties: €50

Cork, Galway, Waterford, Donegal & Surrounds: €80

For items that can be delivered by Fastway or DPD (eg items that can be carried by one person), we aim to deliver within 3 days of your order provided the item is not a preorder item such as a rug.

Furniture and bulky or very fragile Items that are in stock will be delivered in 5-8 working days.  Items with a longer lead time will be
delivered as soon as they arrive into our warehouse.  We will contact you as soon as we receive your order to advise on expected timescale.

Yes you can click and collect any order from us at 19 Esmond Avenue, Dublin, D03 P5C7. 

Homewares and mirrors are usually available next day.  Furniture and bulky items will take a little
longer to be available.  You will receive a notification as soon as your order is ready for pick up.

A console table is a relatively narrow piece of furniture. At about 80 cm tall, console tables are usually slightly higher and more narrow than a standard table as they are not typically designed to accommodate seating and are purely functional as tables. Console tables are ideal for narrow spaces where you want to place a piece of furniture but don’t have much space, for example, in a hallway, porch or behind the sofa. They usually have a flat top surface for displaying decorative items and/or a lamp.

Console tables are often used in hallways or living room spaces for functional and decorative purposes. In fact they are so popular for hallways that they are often referred to as 'hallway tables'. The hallway is a great place to add a console table as it’s usually a small area where bulky furniture would not fit, so adding a table will provide a place to set your keys, purse and other items that are normally scattered around an hallway.

In other areas of the home console tables are perfect for anywhere that space is an issue but surface area is a need. For example, places like behind the sofa are great places to use a console table as it's a great area for a lamp or holding drinks or snacks in the living room when you are entertaining guests. 

The size of a console table can vary depending on the manufacturer and the style of the table. However console tables are typically designed to be narrow in depth, meaning most console tables will average about 30-40 cm in depth. If you are wanting to place a console table in a narrow hallway, you should look for a console table of no more than 30 cm to ensure that you have ample space for traffic. However some console tables are made for wider spaces and can go up to 45cm so measure your space carefully to ensure you get the right fit! You want to leave a minimum of 90cm for your walkways between furniture and walls as a rule of thumb.

A console table should be narrow enough to fit comfortably without obstructing traffic flow. Console tables normally vary between 30-40 cm in depth. A 30cm console table would fit comfortably in most hallways, as the average hallway width in homes in Ireland is around 1.2m wide a 30cm leaves room to pass through without obstruction. As a general rule you want to leave a minimum of 90cm for walkways between furniture and walls. However, console tables can go as low as 25 cm to accommodate tight spaces making them perfect for narrow landings or adding behind the sofa. 

You should choose a console table that will complement the style of your home décor and lifestyle. If you have a minimalist style in your home, you may want to choose a console table that is modern and sleek to add to your room as it can complement the style of your décor, alternatively this might be an opportunity to mix styles and go for something more decorative to act as a contrasting piece.

When choosing the finish of your console table consider other elements of your space; if you are getting a wooden console take note of other woods you already have, e.g.  will it clash with your floors or staircase? Similarly if you are looking at metal take note of your door handles, try to avoid having brass next to chrome.

However choosing black metals on your console table can elevate your space further as we firmly believe that using black acts as a grounding element for most rooms and pairs well with all metals.
